Both Beaver groups took part in an overnight in Dundrum International Scouting Centre in Co. Tipperary from Friday March 2nd to Saturday 3rd. It was a fantastic success and all kids and Leaders had a blast.
On Friday night we had a party for Birthday boy Darragh who is also Eager Beaver for the month of March. We also made Mothers Day crafts and got to explore the area. On Saturday morning the kids went on a hike and took turns on the zipline!!!

Beavers Trails Day - Curraghchase - 12/02/12
On Sunday February 12th the Beavers took part in a County Trails Day.
This involved a small hike which incorporated 5 bases along the way followed by lunch and games.
This goes towards them attaining badges under the new One Programme system.

Big congratulations to the 4 new Beavers who were invested into the Tir na nOg Beaver Colony recently. These new Beavers are Ashlee Sheehan, Luca Conte, Niamh Aherne and Cathy Brennan. Well done!

Visit to Henry Street Garda Station - 14/11/11
The Beavers were very excited as we arrived at the station!

On Monday November 14th the Tir na nOg Beavers went on a Mystery Bus Trip. They had no idea where they were going until the bus parked outside Henry Street Garda Station.
There were 18 Beavers present and 4 Leaders. We met Sergeant Derek inside who took us on a tour of the Garda Station. The kids got to see the prison cells and some of them were locked inside! They had their fingerprints taken and learned about the machines used in the station. The Beavers got to sit in the back of a Garda van and on a motorcycle. They also got to visit the Communications room where they were allowed to control some of the city's CCTV cameras!
All of the Beavers really enjoyed seeing the station and meeting the guards. Now they all want to go on a Mystery bus Trips every week!!!

On Saturday November 12th the Tir na nOg Beaver Colony had an overnight camp in the Curraghchase Scout Centre. There were 11 Beavers and 3 Leaders.
The Beavers arrived at 2pm and immediately chose their bunks and unpacked their gear. Then the explored the area and played games before dinner. After dinner they made clay Christmas ornaments and rice krispie buns and then roasted marshmallows, sang songs and told stories at the outdoor campfire. They competed in a quiz and played musical statues. Before bed, all the Beavers gathered in the bedroom to hear who was going to be announced as this months Eager Beaver. The special necker went to Terry O' Farrell who is a brilliant Beaver and always works hard and behaves well. On Sunday morning the Beavers painted their ornaments and played lots of games outdoors. The camp ended at 11:30am and everyone left feeling very happy and tired!!!
Well done to all the Beavers who attended for being very well behaved and lots of fun!
